The majority of midwifery care: the time spent getting to know and support you during your pregnancy

1,600 British pounds

Service Description

We will create a unique plan suited to your individual needs. Full antenatal appointments can include routine midwifery examinations such as blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis, measuring your baby’s growth, and listening to their heart rate. However, most of our time will be spent discussing and preparing for each new stage of pregnancy, birth preparation and planning, and the opportunity to delve into what makes you feel strong and empowered in this journey and beyond. Below is a schedule of how this may look. Additional or less frequent appointments as needed. Initial consultation (8-12 weeks) - In this first appointment, we’ll start to get to know each other, discuss your medical history, explore screening and ultrasound scan options, your birth preferences, and talk about your goals for your pregnancy and birth experience. This holistic, well-being-centered session allows us to tailor future care to your unique needs and desires. 16 weeks - Full antenatal appointment that may include blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis, discussions around diet, exercise, and mood, and any questions or concerns that may arise. 20 weeks - Full antenatal appointment, anatomy scan review if applicable. 25 weeks - Full antenatal appointment that may start to include listening to your baby’s heartbeat, feeling for position and growth, discussing your baby’s movements. 28 weeks - Full antenatal appointment, offer blood tests. 31 weeks - Full antenatal appointment, review bloodwork if applicable. 34 weeks - Full antenatal appointment. 36 weeks - Full antenatal appointment, ‘the birth plan’ enactment, biomechanics, and ideas for the birth partner's involvement. 38, 39, 40, 41, 42+ weekly full antenatal appointments WhatsApp/phone support as needed.
